What lurks at the bottom of your coffee cup? If you’re anything like me, it’s probably disappointment since you’ve already finished your morning coffee, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I found a company called Creature Cups that makes finishing your coffee much more enjoyable. No more staring at an empty cup.
Unusual Coffee Cups
Creature Cups is a company based in Austin, Texas that is making original coffee cups. At the bottom of each of their ceramic cups is a miniature sculpture that is sure to put a smile on your face. My favorite are the Creepy Cups which are perfect for this time of year. These creepy coffee cups include a skull, spider, gargoyle, crow, and more. If creepy isn’t your thing, don’t worry. They also have Sea Cups, Land Cups, and quite a few limited edition cups. You can check out the entire collection here.
Fun Coffee = Fun Mornings
I’m not sure if this is unique to my area or not. I’m from Philadelphia and when I was a kid the ice cream man used to carry these treats called Screwballs. It was basically a water ice with a gumball surprise at the bottom. When I saw Creature Cups it immediately reminded me of those, and other treats from when I was a kid. If you haven’t heard of Screwballs, maybe you remember treats like Cracker Jacks or all those sugary cereals with the toy surprise at the bottom. Creature Cups have effectively created a delightful toy surprise for grown-ups and can certainly add some fun to your morning routines.
The idea of finishing my coffee, and seeing a lion staring back up at me is priceless. Another cool part is that it looks like an ordinary cup on the outside. It’s kind of like a mullet, business in the front and party in the back. These cups are sophisticated on the outside, and a party on the inside. Your coworkers never need to know that you actually have a unicorn hiding in your cup.
Cups available in 11 oz, 15 oz or both. The color depends on the specific theme the creature belongs to. Limited edition creatures are made in a variety of colors, but unfortunately, you can not customize the color with your creature. Lucky for me I like the creepy theme which happens to come in black. Can’t go wrong with black. Creature Cups are dishwasher and microwave safe. The creature emerges slowly as you drink.
